It's starting to look like another snow day is coming on Tuesday. A weak area of low pressure will reorganize south of Long Island on Tuesday. This system will spread periods of light to moderate snow across the state on Tuesday. There is still a good amount of uncertainty regarding snow amounts and timing as well as temperatures, especially along the shore. As of now plan for snow in the air, with accumulations likely especially on colder surfaces and elevated areas. The magic number will be around 2" . If your town can see 2" of accumulation Tuesday, a White Christmas is likely, however if an inch or less falls, it will probably melt before sunrise on Christmas.

Chances of a "White Christmas"

NW/NE hills - 90% odds

I 84 Corridor - 50-75% odds depending on elevation (500' + greater odds)

North Central CT Valley- 50% odds

Interior Hills of Fairfield and New Haven County - 50-75% odds

Southern CT around the Merritt and I-91 - 25-50% odds

Shoreline - less than 25% odds
