Stormy Monday, Big Temperature Swings Next 7 Days

Today's Severe weather threat

Strong to Severe storms this afternoon and evening will bring an end to our 5 day stretch of warm and humid weather.

We will have to keep a close eye on any stronger storm that develops especially in West/Central CT, any strong storm will have the potential to produce damaging wind gusts, large hail, and even a tornado.

Timing for the strongest storms will be between 5pm and 9pm.

A cold front is to bring cooler temps than the warm ones we have been feeling. The storm moving through Monday is going to bring thunderstorms, with the possibility of some being severe. Storms may contain hail and strong winds, tornadoes are not out of the realm of possibility. We will be seeing a cool down in temps from Monday night through Thursday. Some possible rain later this week, as well as some wind. After Thursday, we will be seeing a warm up in temperatures, going all the way through Sunday.

Monday - Thunderstorms, possibly severe from 3pm to 9pm. Highs will be between 77-82, except upper 60s at the shore. Rain most likely to end around 11pm. Rainfall amounts between a tenth and a quarter of an inch. Expect higher rainfall within thunderstorms. Strongs storms have the possibility to produce hail and damaging winds.

Tuesday - Mostly sunny with some wind throughout the day. Highs will be 68-72, warmest inland. Winds 11-15mph with gusts up to 25mph.

Wednesday - Sunny with some cloud coverage throughout the day. Highs will be 67-76, warmest temperatures inland.

Thursday - Mostly Cloudy. Highs will be 65-70. There is a 25% chance of precipitation from early morning to the afternoon.

Friday - Mostly cloudy and seasonable. Highs will be 75-82, a bit cooler at the shore. Mostly cloudy with a low chance of about 10% for isolated showers throughout the day.

Saturday - Partly cloudy. Very warm with highs at 85-90, warmest inland, cooler temps at the shore.

Sunday - Mostly Sunny, with highs ranging from 78-85. A stray thunderstorm or shower is possible.
