Snow Tuesday into Wednesday, then bitter cold!

Snow on the way centered for the Tuesday PM commute. Early dismissals may be needed.

Light snow will develop across CT after 11am Tuesday, the most steady snow will be between 2-8pm. Temperatures will be between 25-30 degrees at this time, therefore we expect slick roads especially after 5pm when the sun sets combined with the steadiest snow.

The snow should continue on and off lightly into Wednesday morning before tapering off to periods of snow showers possibly into Thursday. A true shot of Arctic air moves in behind the storm for Thursday PM though Friday with temperatures between 10-20 degrees and wind chills well below zero. The next system to watch after that will be Sunday and Monday.

Our current snowfall forecast is 2-4" for the majority of the state, except 1-2" for southern Fairfield county. This snowfall map from the high resolution NAM model is a good forecast for CT at this time. Our first JDJ snowfall map will be posted this evening.
