At the beginning of this year we revealed an all new Winter Storm Archive for all of Southern New England, the Tri-State Area and Connecticut complete with snowfall maps, full radar animations and surface/upper air maps. As of September 1st, 2025 that archive has been updated from 2025 back to 2009 with over 150 winter storms. We have also added many new pages to the website including new Southern New England & Tri-State Area Snowfall Maps Archives. The Historic Snowstorms Archive has grown to over 40 major events. In addition, there is many new features and enhancements to the desktop and we've made an effort to make the mobile site much more rich and user friendly. Here's the details:

New Home Page for Desktop & Mobile:

The home page for our site now has six new quick access buttons to the Winter Storm Archive, Seasonal Snowfall Archive, Historic Snowstorms, and SNE/CT/Tri-State Snowfall Maps Archive. The hamburger menu can be used to access all main areas of the site as well.

Winter Storm Archive:

The main Winter Storm Archive has been completed to 2009 and continues to be updated weekly as new storms get added. This page has been enhanced for mobile with quick access buttons for each year. If you haven't visited in a while and want to see what's new, click on the major website updates. All links to external sources and important weather related sites have been included at the top.

New Snowfall Maps Archive (SNE/Tri-State/CT):

In addition to the existing Connecticut snowfall maps archive we now have one for Southern New England and the Tri-State Area. First select the region you want to see, then click on the season (i.e. 2009-2010) and you will get all the snowfall maps for that season and area. These archives have been completed back to 2009 so far, except for Connecticut which is fully completed for the past 25 years.

Historic Snowstorms Archive:

The Historic Snowstorms Archive is where you can find all the major (widespread 12"+) snowstorms that affected the Northeast United States. Each storm has snowfall maps, radar, and other pertinent images related to the event. There are now over 40 storms in this archive and dates back to the great blizzard of 1888.

What's Next:

  • Complete the Winter Storm Archive back to 2000. We should have this updated to 2003 by the start of the 25-26 season and fully done in 2026.

  • Southern New England and Tri-State Snowfall Maps Archives completed back to the 99-00 season.

  • New historic storms for the 2000s that haven't been added yet.

  • New Winter 25-26 season page and members area.

Continue to check back to our site as we are updating it and adding more storms and snowfall maps on a weekly basis. If you have any question, comments or issues with the site or archive you can email the webmaster here.
