Heavy snow bands this morning "overperform"

What a morning. As we've discussed all week, if "quasi-stationary" bands of heavy snow developed from what we call frontogenetic forcing, then the higher end and more of our snow forecast would verify. These snow bands set up between 1-2am and produced snowfall rates of 2-4" per hour. Here is our final snowfall forecast from 5am.

We should clean the snow as best as we can as a quick but potent shot of cold air moves in tonight and Saturday which will freeze everything over. We then have a threat of freezing rain on Sunday. All this before the coldest air in a few years moves in on Monday night and Tuesday with temperatures going below zero . The pattern looks cold and active buckle up!
