September 2025 Update: The completion of this project only refers to the Connecticut snowfall maps. A new Winter Storm Archival project is underway that includes snowfall maps for Southern New England, Tri-State Area, CT as well as a full radar animation, surface maps and upper air maps for every moderate event (3") or greater.

The Historic Snowstorms page has also expanded to over 40 major events and continues to be updated as the Winter Storm Archive gets completed.

In addition to the CT Snowfall Maps Archive mentioned below, there is now two new snowfall maps sections for Southern New England and the Tri-State Area. These are completed back to 2009.

We have been working on a long project to create snowfall maps for every storm and season for the past 25 years. After nearly two years, we can finally say this project is complete. This archival project includes snowfall maps for CT for every storm since 1999. It also includes seasonal snowfall maps for CT, Southern New England, and the Northeast United States. There are also select historical storms pre-1999, that will be continually updated over time.

Winter Storm Archive - This is the main page for the entire project that focuses mainly on Connecticut. Here you will find snowfall maps for every storm organized by season. There is also new pages that sort storms by greater than 12", greater than 24", early/late season storms, and storms that fell on holidays. Click/tap on any season from 1999 to 2024.

Historical Storm Archive - This page has select major and notable storms pre-1999. So far we have added the major blizzard of 1888 and the very late season May 1977 snowstorm. Over the next few months and into 2025 we will add the the blizzard of '78, March '93 superstorm, blizzard of '96, April fools day 1997 storm, and many more.

Seasonal Snowfall Archive - This new page has total seasonal snowfall for Connecticut, Southern New England and the Northeast United States. Both Connecticut and Southern New England go back 25 years to 1999. The Northeast US seasonal snowfall ends at the 2008-2009 season. Additionally on this page we have created bar graphs for seasonal snowfall for select cities in the Northeast. Some of these cities are, New York, Bridgeport, Worcester, Boston, and more. We plan to add more cities over time.

Our desktop site is fully updated but check back frequently for new updates over this coming winter season. The mobile site has been completely redesigned from the ground up to better reflect the desktop version and make the experience more user-friendly. A new thing we will be doing for the 24-25 season is to update every storm in real time on the site for CT, Southern New England and the Tri-State area.
