Today and Tuesday will likely be the hottest days in this stretch of extreme heat. Temperatures are expected to top off in the upper 90s today and near 100F tomorrow. With dewpoints in the 70s, it will feel like 100-110F.
With this extreme heat, records are expected to fall at most locations. In some cases, record highs could be absolutely obliterated. Official records are kept at regional and international airports across the country. In our area, from Newark to Boston, there are ten climo sites.
Here is a list of all the record highs for Monday and Tuesday.

All of these records are in jeopardy for Monday and most will likely fall. On Tuesday, with temperatures forecast to be around 100F for most, nearly all of these records will likely be broken by several degrees. We'll keep you updated on the latest forecast and when this oppressive heat will eventually break.
