The second heat wave of the summer is coming on Monday, July 28th. Temperatures won't be quite as hot as the heat wave last month but we're still looking at 90s and heat indices up to 105F. The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for the entire state with the exception of Litchfield county. A heat advisory means that temperatures in combination with humidity will make it feel like 95-99F for two or more consecutive days or over 100F for any length of time.

Hot temperatures begin on Monday and with dew points in the 70s it will feel like over 100 degrees during the afternoon. The hottest day will be on Tuesday with temperatures approaching 100F inland and mid-90s at the shore. Wednesday continues the heat wave with temps in the low to mid-90s. Some records may be broken at official climo sites during this time period, but we're not expecting wide-spread broken records similar to the June heat wave.

The heat breaks on Wednesday evening with showers and thunderstorms likely in the evening. Thursday will be cooler with highs about 10 degrees cooler and the chance for more showers and thunderstorms. Next weekend looks clear with seasonable temperatures and mostly sunny skies.
