Snow is anticipated to begin on Friday night between 6:00 and 8:00 PM, gradually moving eastward. By Saturday morning, approximately one inch of snow is expected. However, a band of heavy snow squalls is predicted to arrive around daybreak, potentially adding an additional coating to one inch of snow on Saturday morning. In Eastern Connecticut, the snow may persist due to the formation of a narrow band of snow known as an "inverted trough," which could result in 2 to 4 inches
Late last year we posted about the progress of the main Winter Storm Archive dating back to 1994. As of February 2nd, 2026, that archive has been completed back to 1994 with 294 winter storms and counting. Each storm has snowfall maps for Southern New England, the Tri-State Area and Connecticut as well as a full radar loop and surface/upper air maps.
