Tuesday's storm continues to look less impressive, however there is still the threat for a few inches of snow in the south west third of CT, Litchfield, Fairfield, and New Haven Counties still have a 50% chance of 1"+ of snow. The rest of the state looks like much less of a chance for accumulating snow. We will post our first forecast map for Tuesday PM on Sunday night. Check the map below for areas in yellow for the best chance at 1"+ of snow. We are also giving the same favored area an outside chance (10-20%) of 3"+ of snow.

Thursday's storm has really started to looked more impressive on guidance since the overnight runs last night. We expect a very powerful storm to develop to our south. All indications currently are that this storm will miss us to the south and east, however, we are trending closer and closer to some impact in CT, and this storm is still 110-130 hours away, that's an eternity in the weather world.

If you look at the maps below (American first, as it's had a better grip on this potential) of the ensemble mean of the American and European models, you'll see the mean (average) of the many different ensembles is the green contour in the middle. However, if you look for the "L's" you can see most of the "L's" are to the north and west of the mean, this means to us that we might see a shift north and west in the mean which would bring the storm forecast path closer to our area. We will be watching this very closely over the next few days. Stay tuned.
